videofests

The Out of Focus Music Video Festival returns to the New Parkway Theater for its fourth year. Bringing with it, a curated selection of music videos, animations, and shorts–all produced by local video artists.

The two hours of music videos will include 20-25 videos, running the gamut from high-tech and polished to low-brow; from trippy as hell to gorgeous and sentimental. The night brings together a motley crew of musicians, filmmakers, visual artists, and storytellers to the New Parkway along with a bittersweet nostalgia for the golden age of MTV music videos.

The co-hosts of Out of Focus Music Video Festival, Tina Liao and Loren Risker, are videographers, parents, and heroes of their own niche community of creatives. They’re also the co-organizers behind OutofFocus.TV which is their website that serves as a 24/7 online home for videos. It’s an indie channel that streams music videos, live performances, and mini-documentaries—maybe like what you hoped MTV would be, before it washed up on the Trump-orange beaches of the Jersey Shore.
