Pitchfork Presents “In Sight Out”: Courtney Barnett
Few speak truth to mundanity quite like singer/songwriter Courtney Barnett. Her 2015 debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit detailed a series of ordinary moments made wondrous in her hands; singing often in a deadpan, Barnett brought out the quiet sincerity of her subjects. (She also has a terrific, winking sense of humor.) In 2017, she teamed up with her equal in dry wit, Kurt Vile, on the collaborative album Lotta Sea Lice. In 2018, she released the acclaimed Tell Me How You Really Feel.

This conversation between Executive Editor Stacey Anderson and Courtney Barnett was recorded ahead of her performance at 2018’s Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.
